- Sunday, December 30th
Dinner at Mario's for Chris's Birthday!
- Monday, December 31st
Short hike at Zuma beach to watch the last sunset of the year.
I want to make it a tradition. It got colder and colder but we all enjoyed this trip. Renee discovered how to use pockets and slowed our trip down the hill. She kept stopping to make sure the small rocks she had collected in her pockets were still there. Marcus enjoyed testing the limits but seeing how close the waves would reach him.
- Tuesday, January 1st
Dinner at Hopeton with just the Park siblings. I made a cheese platter with cheese from Vons because TJ's was closed. Not as good but the beginning of a new hobby.
- Wednesday January 2nd
King Tut exhibit at the California Science Center
The exhibit didn't let us take the double stroller in, and that audible completely threw us off. Titus was so into and so was James and I, but we couldn't really take anytime to look and wonder. We really sped through it with Renee ready to jump off the walls.
- Thursday, January 3rd
DISNEYLAND FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR THE KIDS!
We kicked off the trip with the tea cups and it set the tone for the day. James, Miranda, and I had to really use a lot of energy, but I thought it was worth it. I know the boys will remember this trip.
- Today, Friday January 4th
Things that got me today "one more time" - Renee's statement, with one finger pointing up, and her usual head nod, expressing that she isn't asking, but telling you to concur with her
"excuse me" - Renee, as she shoves aside the people in her way
"Marcus favorite part"- Renee. Kids are always listening. Renee got upset tonight that Marcus didn't tell us his "favorite part of the day" (our nightly ritual of talking about our favorite part of the day, our most challenging part, and a bad part of the day) Marcus had passed out before I turned out the lights to start that conversation tonight.
Lacy Park with Joaquin, Aurora, and Go.
A great end to winter break. I hope this friendship will grow and really deepen.
